BATHE ON SANDY BEACHES

With miles of European Blue Flag beaches on the doorstep, you’ll love nothing better than a day feeling the sand between your toes. Dotted with Chiringuitos (beach bars), you can enjoy fresh paella, grilled sardines and other flavoursome dishes while soaking up the sun-soaked atmosphere.

Food & Drink on the Costa del Sol

Whether you enjoy traditional cooking, the extravagances of Michelin starred restaurants or something in-between, you’ll be spoiled for choice on the Costa del Sol.

Try the fresh fish and seafood cooked over a wood fire in decorative boats at beach-front restaurants; you can’t get more local than the day’s catch on the coast! For early evening or lunchtime nibbles, then tapas are a must. A great way to introduce yourself to the flavours of southern Spain, you can sample everything from chorizo to anchovies, tomato infused pork to olive oil drenched roast peppers. Tempting tasters!

The Costa del Sol is fast becoming a gastronomic destination with no less than 5 Michelin-starred restaurants along the coast between Malaga and Estepona. Spanish chefs have long been renowned for their ability to infuse traditional Spanish flavours with international ingredients and these gourmet restaurants are testament to that.

With the province of Malaga producing top-class wines and beers, and fresh fruits growing to the east of the city – great for juices or smoothies, you’re sure to find the perfect accompaniment to your meal, whatever you choose!

THINGS TO DO

AROUND THE COSTA DEL SOL

The Costa del Sol is also known as the Costa del Golf since the creation of a multitude of golf courses along its length – perfect for the winter months when the courses of northern Europe become sodden or snow-covered! But it’s not just golf on offer in this year-round destination…

Malaga has been labelled ‘the new Barcelona’ for its 30+ museums and art galleries that cover subjects from wine-making to Picasso, street art to local customs. Stroll along its pedestrianised shopping street and weave through its narrow side streets to discover its delights.

Marbella and neighbouring Puerto Banus are renowned as the playground of the rich and famous. Designer boutiques and glittering night clubs rub shoulders with the charm of Marbella’s old town.
